About Reykjavik's time zone
Iceland has kept a fixed UTC+0 offset year-round since abandoning daylight saving time in 1968, even though its longitude would put true solar time noticeably behind that. In effect, Icelanders get more evening daylight in winter than the sun's position alone would suggest — a trade-off kept for decades in favour of consistency over seasonal change.
