About Paris's time zone
France ran on Paris Mean Time, a few minutes ahead of GMT, until 1911, when it switched to GMT for international consistency. German occupation forced a shift to Central European Time in 1940, and France never reverted after the war — which is why Paris still shares a clock with cities as far east as Warsaw.
